in books about Maine and by Maine authors. We are especially proud of our section
for children, middle readers, and young adult readers.

and visit us on the water's edge at Somes Cove in Somesville, Maine, on Mount
Desert Island, and browse and linger over the fine selection of books, music,
greeting cards, journals, note-cards, and Crane's personalized stationery - all
gathered and arranged in a completely renovated 19th century chandlery where Atlantic
sailing ships used to put in for supplies.

Desert Island history and our current stock make Port In A Storm a special destination
for book lovers who also enjoy coastal panoramas. We are located on Somes Cove
at the head of Somes Sound, the only natural fjord on the eastern seaboard.
